Requisites

In order to be awarded the ARCA mark, buildings must comply with a set of thirteen requisites, divided into three distinct categories:

Technical performance

• anti-seismic protection
• fire resistance
• energy efficiency
• sound-proofing
• air permeability
• controlled mechanical ventilation 

Management of the building

• rules on construction quality
• maintenance programme
• 10-year posthumous insurance policy

Sustainability:

• certified wood
  integrated planning programme
  low emission materials
  local production 

Classification level

On the basis of what is stated in the certification, which comprises mandatory prerequisites and a system of credits relating to other optional features, a building may be awarded one of four different  certification levels, representing four different quality ranges. They are, in ascending order:

• green
• silver
• gold
• platinum
